What Is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a mechanical peeling that uses a diamond-coated head to remove the dead skin cells and expose a bright, smooth and glowing skin, while also boosting cell regeneration.
Microdermabrasion Benefits
If used regularly, on the long-term, it accelerates the collagen synthesis and implicitly supports the natural skin rejuvenation. Diamond microdermabrasion is a non-invasive, unpainful procedure, it does not require a recovery time (after the treatment, the skin will remain reddish for about 1 hour), it does not require anaesthesia and it is recommended for all skin types.
To Whom Is It Addressed?
The technique offers good results for all persons with:
- post acne scars
- white/black comedones
- sun-damaged skin
- dry skin
- oily skin
- fine wrinkles
- brown spots (on the face, neck, neckline)
- stretch marks (only the recently installed ones, red, present for less than 2 years)
- sundry scars
Treatment Procedure
For oily and acne-prone skin 3-4 treatment sessions are required every 14 days, followed by monthly or 2-month maintenance treatment sessions (for the dry skin).
The skin must be hydrated with dermato-cosmetic products suitable for the skin type and should be protected with SPF 50+ sunscreens, to avoid the undesired hyperpigmentation.
Microdermabrasion Counter Indications
Microdermabrasion is counter indicated on any areas with infections (viral, bacterial, fungal); in this case, the infections will be treated first, and the procedure will be performed after the area is sterilized.
